Donating Goods such as clothing, furniture and appliances to Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores helps to benefit those in need. Donating to The Salvation Army is a very kind thing to do. You help make a difference in the community when you give The Salvation Army re-sellable items they can really use.

HOW YOUR DONATIONS HELP

Money raised from Thrift Store sales helps to fund Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers. These centers provide spiritual, social and emotional assistance for men and women who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Each center offers residential housing, work, and group and individual therapy, all in a clean, wholesome environment. The physical and spiritual care that program participants receive prepares them to re-enter society and return to gainful employment. Many of those who have been rehabilitated are reunited with their families and resume a normal life.

DONATION VALUE

When you donate in person. Salvation Army employees will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. The Salvation Army does not set a valuation on your donation. It's up to you to assign a value to your item. (For professional advice, please consult your tax advisor.) The Donation Value Guide at SATruck.org will help you determine the approximate tax-deductible value of some of the more commonly donated items.
