Salvation Army Night With The Beach Bums

On Tuesday, July 17th, the Officers and volunteers of The Salvation Army in Traverse City will “team up” with the Traverse City Beach Bums in the spirit of Doing the most good® to help those less fortunate in the community.
Sponsored by DTE Energy, “Salvation Army Night With the Beach Bums” will feature a number of special events including the familiar sights and sounds of bell ringers and Salvation Army red kettles for those fans who would like to provide a donation at the game. Newly appointed Traverse City Corps Community Center Officers Captains Daren and Roxanne Spencer will be participating at the event and will be in the broadcasting booth for a portion of the night’s game. A DTE Energy representative will throw-out the night’s honorary first pitch and The Salvation Army’s Brass Band will perform a variety of fun, summertime musical selections for added entertainment.
The Beach Bums players will be sporting new collector’s edition jerseys complete with Salvation Army colors and shield logo. These never-before-seen jerseys will be auctioned off at the conclusion of the game. All proceeds from the auctions will benefit the programs and services of The Salvation Army in Traverse City. The public can support Salvation Army Night with the Beach Bums and other Salvation Army initiatives by sending their financial gifts directly to The Salvation Army, Post Office Box 5228, Traverse City, MI 49696-5228, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY or 231.946.4641 or by donating online at http://www.satraversecity.org.
