You’re Approved!

Joyce has worked hard her entire life to be responsible with her money and to make sound financial decisions. Upon her retirement, she invested her retirement savings in the stock market based upon ill-advised council. Unfortunately with the economic downturn, she lost most of her retirement nest egg. She currently lives on social security alone and found it necessary to come to The Salvation Army for help as her social security check was not enough to pay all her monthly bills.

Joyce was faithful in her monthly energy payments but was unable to keep her account current due to her worsening financial situation. Her balance continued to accrue and soon her lack of available funds became overwhelming. The Salvation Army was able to resolve her entire balance by using a public funding source and matching funds. After many years of being denied assistance from other agencies, Joyce was joyful to hear the words “you’re approved.”
